1893 Evening Gown

Description

This garment is a reconstruction of an 1893 evening gown. It was made using Janet Arnold’s ‘Patterns of Fashion 2’ publication.
The dress is made of silk and velvet, and took approximently twelve weeks to create.
It has been entered into the Costume Society’s competition, ‘Patterns of Fashion’, which is due to announce it’s finalists in May 2013.

The dress holds 793 pearls!
